Ok my 8 yr old TB has to go on joint supplements due to a racing injury before i go t him. What joint supplement works the best. I was leaning towards Cosequin brands or the Recovery brands since to me they seemed to be the best.

  1. Here is some information on another supplement that is used at several Saddlebred show barns,  as well as one severely broke down Belgian that was worked to the bone doing tractor work on an Amish farm.  He was rescued and is now enjoying retirement with much less pain and a lot more mobility due to this product.

    Check it out....

  2. Glucosamine & Chondroitin

Joint supplements for horses and people do not work on all.  You just have to try them.  Best of luck.

  3. I've used this stuff called Glycoflex on both my horses and dogs...it works wonders.  We had a dog that we thought we were going to have to put down soon due to his arthritis limiting his mobility, but we started him on this stuff at the recommendation from a friend, and he lived another three years, and ended up dying of natural causes instead of having to be put down due to misery.

I started my older mare on this when she was 16 because she had a hip that popped a lot, and she had been ridden so hard when she was younger (racing, polo).  I took her to the vet this spring (she's 18 now) and the vet was amazed at her lack of arthritis.  She acts more wild and full of it than my 5 year old most of the time.

Anyway, here's the website if you are interested in looking into it:
