Fulham’s manager, Martin Jol has gone on to insist that his side deserved to pick up the three points against Chelsea, given the manner in which both the team’s performed last night.
The Cottagers took on Chelsea in the Premier League, as both the teams looked to end their season on a high.
The match kicked off with Chelsea taking the lead, as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 went on to score the opening goal of the game.
Many believe that the Blues shouldn’t have been awarded a penalty kick to begin with, but the referee went on to award the London based club the spot kick as it is.
However, Fulham didn’t let this goal bring them down, as they went on to fight on till the dying stages of the game.
The team’s persistence eventually paid off, as they went on to score the equalizer in the second half.
Clint Dempsey went on to head the ball past http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Petr-Cech-c29837 via the help of a slight deflection, as he helped his side salvage a point from the game.
Jol, when talking about the game and whether he thought if his side deserved to win the game or not is quoted to have said: “I think so. It was our second game in a couple days, they made six changes and we made two.”
He then insisted that the penalty that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 were awarded was a little too soft and perhaps that is what changed the outcome of the game.

“In the first half we caused them real problems. The penalty decision was soft and it was a bad time to concede. We always believed and we played some good stuff.”

“We have had two good draws against them in similar style and we did the same today. We showed very good character. “
Despite the match ending in a draw, it was easy to see that Fulham dominated the latter stages of the game. The Cottagers didn’t allow Chelsea any breathing space late on in the game and the Stamford Bridge club should perhaps consider themselves lucky to
be taking away any points from the game.
