Jolted Philadelphia Eagles face New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on Week 11 Sunday – NFL Preview
As quarterback Michael Vick struggles to recover from injury, jolted Philadelphia Eagles seek to forget the memories of the last week’s loss to make a fresh start as they face New York Giants at the MetLife Stadium in the week
11 game of the National Football League current season on Sunday.
Eagles have lost their last two games against Chicago Bears 30-24 and Arizona Cardinals 21-17 in the week nine and 10 respectively. During the loss against Cardinals, Vick hurt his ribs and missed the practice sessions on Wednesday
and Thursday. Vince Young is expected to replace him on Sunday.
Giants were too sceptic about Vick’s participation in the weekend’s game when he did not show up on the first practice session. The management said that the team would prepare for the match assuming that Vick would make the start.
“We haven’t seen much of Vince Young so we are going to prepare as if Vick is a starter and in my eyes he is going to be there come Sunday,” Giants’ safety Antrel Rolle said when Vick missed the first practice session.
The overall performance of Eagles this season is not commendable. They have lost six games and won only three. However, their average in terms of rushing and passing yards is appreciable. They maintain an average of 246.7 passing
yards (10th in the league ranking) and 171.6 rushing yards (1st in the league ranking) per game.
Giants, on the other hand, are leading the National Football League East division with six victories and three defeats under their belt. They were defeated in the last week matchup against San Francisco 49ers that ended Giants
three-game winning streak to extend theirs to seven.
Their quarterback Eli Manning is having a marvellous season. He has 17 touchdowns, eight interceptions and 2,688 yards in nine games. Manning thinks that his team will have to be consistent in starting the games well rather than
relying on making comebacks in the fourth quarters.
“You don't want to rely on having to win the game in the fourth quarter and having to have drives at the end," Manning said. "It is a great quality that we have and I think our confidence is where it needs to be if we get in those
situations, but we have to get off to faster starts and take advantage of our opportunities early in the game."
