Jon Fitch meets Johny Hendricks at UFC 141 – UFC Preview
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is producing UFC 141 on December 30, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The event will feature great matches on its main card. One of the fights is between American mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters Jon Fitch and Johny Hendricks. They will meet in for the welterweight division matchup.
Both fighters would be looking for a win as they are on a winning streak of their own. The 28-year-old Hendricks has lost only once in his career which began in 2007. He secured nine straight wins before losing to Rick Story at The Ultimate Fighter (TUF)
12 Finale in December 2010.
He has won eleven fights and will bring his motivation and confidence into the fighting cage. His opponent, the 33-year-old Fitch is undefeated since the past six fights. The last time he lost was in August 2008 against Georges St. Pierre at UFC 87. Being
undefeated for three years he would be the more energized fighter than Hendricks.
Looking at their in-ring facts and figures we can see that both are fairly equal. Fitch has a twenty-six percent success rate with his striking moves while Hendricks has the same ratio with his striking. In terms of submission, Fitch is the better fighter
with twenty-one percent rate of success while Hendricks has a seventeen percent rate of victory. While talking about takedowns, both fighters have a higher percentage as Fitch succeeded with fifty-two percent takedowns in his career and Hendricks is slightly
better with fifty-seven takedown rate.
Fitch will be the better fighter for sure as he contested in more fights than Hendricks. Fitch has been an MMA fighter since July 2002 and in the past nine years he has remained one of the dominant fighter who has took part in three different weight class
divisions. He fought in the welterweight, middle weight and light heavyweight class and proved to be a worthy fighter in all three divisions.
He would be aiming for a win to become the number one contender in the welterweight division. His opponent, Hendricks, will also be in the right frame of mind to win as he would use his unbeaten streak as an emotional leverage. Nothing can be said for sure
because both fighters can give each other a hard time in the ring.
