Jon Jones: I am a huge fan of getting prepared – UFC News
UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones has finally come to peace, following UFC 151 cancellation. The mixed martial artist was heavily blamed for the entire scenario. President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship Dana White had put the entire blame of
UFC 151 cancellation on Jones’ shoulder. While Jones believed, it was not in his hand to save the day, White claimed Jones hurt others jut for his own ego.
Whatever happened marked the demise of UFC 151, probably the first card cancellation in Dana White’s career. Jones is now scheduled to face Vitor Belfort at UFC 152. Considering the pressure Jones is in right now, many analysts are of the view that Belfort
might just end the American’s long reign as champion.
However, Jones believes it is time for him to keep aside all the trash-talks and get back to the gym.
“I'm a huge fan of being prepared. I'm a gigantic fan of being prepared. I ultimately believe being prepared leads to making the fight look easy. You do your homework, you pass tests. It's as simple as that. To go back to the Chael Sonnen situation, I wouldn't
have been able to do my homework and it wouldn't have been a smart decision,” said Jones in a recent interview.
When asked about Dana White, Jones played safe and admitted the fact that he has no hatred for White.
“Dana White's awesome. You know, I've said before, Dana White is a passionate guy. … When he's upset with you, he's going to be passionate. I forgive Dana White for any insults he might have given me. I'm looking forward to talking to him and just moving
forward.”
Just a week back, Jones and White were talking trash for each other. White is still on his word but Jones has backed off. It seems like the American mixed martial artist is playing safe, as he wants the support of White and other UFC officials for his fight
against Belfort.
It should be noted here that Jones has been the only UFC fighter to be officially sponsored by UFC in his last fight.
