Jon Jones: I just can't wait to put him out of his misery – UFC News
Jon Jones, UFC Light Heavyweight Champion, is furious over Rashad Evans. He recently expressed his views regarding Evans, which clearly show how desperate he is to get him in the ring. Both the fighters are scheduled to meet in the ring at UFC 145 at the
Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia on April 21, 2012.
Jon Jones’ recent statement at a press conference was, “Jealousy fuels Rashad, to some degree. I think it's safe to say, yeah, absolutely safe to say. I think it's very weak emotionally on his part. That's why I can't wait for this fight to be over. I have
no problem with him. Right now, I have my kids, I have my girl, we have our place together, I'm following my dreams. I'm doing the right things in life. I'm on the right track. Rashad is the one who looks at this whole story like, you know, this guy's went
off and created his own team and he's left the people who were there for him in the beginning. He's the one who is going through this whirlwind in life right now. And I just can't wait to put him out of his misery and solidify me being the light heavyweight
champion and telling him to go have a seat somewhere."
Rashad Evans is Jones’ former friend, training partner and teammate. However, in the recent past, both the fighters have shared enough bitterness that has deteriorated their relationship. Evans has lashed out on Jones at several occasions, whereas Jones
has mostly kept his calm but for no long. Jones now wishes to beat Evans in the ring to show him that he is the one who is going through a dilemma and he needs to fix it instead of blaming others.
Evans hails from Niagara Falls, New York, with a portfolio of 17 wins, 1 loss and 1 tie. His knockout victories are six and his submission victories are two. Evans is considered among the best MMA fighters today. However, his recent behaviour has irked many
of his fellow fighters who now are of the view that Evans is no longer capable of fighting and he just ‘knows to talk’.
