Jon Jones: My path was not an easy one and I did undergo hard work - UFC news
Jon Jones, the current Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Light heavyweight champion, recently in a detailed interview, said that he is not some rich, money-laden guy who has easily reached the top adding that his path was not an easy one and he had to
work strenuously in order to accomplish whatever he has at the moment.
Jon, 24, is scheduled to take on his old friend and current arch rival Rashad Evans. Both men will enter the octagon on April 21, 2012 and will headline UFC 145 pay-per-view. The five-round main event will have Jones light heavyweight title on the line and
the octagon for the epic engagement will be setup at Phillips Arena situated in Atlanta, Georgia, United States.
Jones, infamous as the ‘Bones’, has performed feats that have made him the world number one light heavyweight in the whole of mixed martial art industry.
During the interview, Jones answered many harsh questions but in a rather cool manner. When asked as to how he feels about people hating and thumbing him down every now and then, Jones replied, “I don't hear them, to tell you the truth. I can’t please everyone.
Some people are going to love you, and some are going to hate you, no matter what you do.”
Jones had always faced a bit tough time since he is booed and considered an arrogant brat who does not respect his fans and his opponents. Jon is notoriously known for not being humble after a victory. Whatever the reason might be, Jones is unanimously known
as the most hated brawler in UFC.
Jones explained that he really does not like when people dub him as ‘a guy who takes things for granted’. The knockout specialist remarked, “My road wasn’t easy, by any means. That’s why when people call me cocky, it’s, like, the biggest blow I can get.
It’s like, ‘It's not me! I’m sorry I’m coming across that way.’ I don't think I’m better than anyone.”
Jones, who has the leanest and yet the most powerful legs in UFC, said that he wants to revamp the sport altogether adding that he wants to set an example for the people and wants to tell them that they should be positive about things rather than being a
pessimist.
Jones stated, “I want to change our sport with something positive, to brighten up people’s lives and get them to look more on the positive side about every little thing.”
The 24-year-old lad has been on a continuous winning streak after his career’s only loss to Matt Hamill. Bones recently collected a huge win over Lyoto Machida and successfully defended his gold for the second consecutive time. Jones also secures the unique
honour of having the longest reach in UFC that is 84.5 inch.
