Jon Jones is not bothered with Dan Henderson’s trash-talk – UFC News
As always, challenger Dan Henderson has chosen to strike UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones with cruel words. Henderson came up saying that he would like to put Jon Jones in his place. Jones was stunned over Henderson’s harsh words, saying he will
not be intimidated by words.
“No clue why Dan Henderson decided to be so disrespectful to me leading up to this fight, but it is what it is, I could use the motivation,” said Jones via his Twitter account.
He added, “The dudes done so much for the sport, I'm not even trying to come at him like that. I did enough trash talking with (Quinton Jackson) & (Rashad) Evans. FYI Henderson's mouth isn't bothering me at all, I just figured with all his experience he'd
be over stuff like that.”
Jones will defend his title against Henderson in September at UFC 151. The light heavyweight champion is already considered among the best UFC fighters of all time, a position that might irk other fighters who think they are of the same calibre.
On the other hand, Dan Henderson is among the pioneers of UFC but his accomplishments are weak to what Jones has accomplished in just a handful of years. Probably Jones’ popularity is one reason why Henderson is being cruel towards him.
“(Jones) is what he is and I enjoy fighting guys like that, that are a little bit cocky. It's fun to put them in their place,” said Henderson in his recent interview.
For now, Jones is determined to shake Henderson’s foundations at UFC 151. The UFC light heavyweight champion is already on the verge of cementing his legacy as the best mixed martial artist in history. Jones is just a few clicks away to break Tito Ortiz’s
record of defending the title for the most time.
While talking about his plans, Jones revealed that he wants to break Ortiz’s record to be the number one MMA fighter of all time. Considering Jones’ accomplishments and his unbeaten streak, one can easily imagine him breaking Ortiz’s record in no time. If
he is able to do it, he definitely will be the best UFC fighter in history.
