Jon Jones says he did not see anything new in Rashad Evans – UFC news
Jon Jones has said that he thought Rashad Evans has learned something new and will definitely give him a tough time in the ring but he was disappointed in seeing nothing new coming out of Evans in UFC on Fox against Phil Davis.
Jon Jones uttered these comments in the pre-UFC 145 press conference in front of Rashad Evans. Both men are scheduled to take on each other in UFC’s upcoming pay-per-view UFC 145. Jones and Evans will headline the special edition and the event will have
Jones UFC light heavyweight title on the line.
The duo was totally energetic and exchanged comments that surprised the media. Jones, infamous as ‘Bones’, has been in a total 16 brawls and lost just one mixed martial art bout against Matt Hamill. Bones is a hardcore competitor and is even praised by the
Brazilian proud Anderson Silva as a man invincible to Brazilians.
Jones has collected eight of his total wins by knock out and five by submission. His kayo number shows that he is a ruthless brawler who relies heavily in taking on his opponents straight away by mere fists and powerful punches. Rashad Evans, infamous as
Suga, has been in a total 19 brawls and lost just one to Lyoto Machida.
Rashad is famous for his aggressiveness and resilience. He has collected just six wins by knocking his opponents out, two by submission and a huge nine by unanimous decision.
Bones while commenting about his former friend, sparring partner and current arch rival Evans said, “I expected a lot. After his first fight with the new camp there was talk of Rashad 2.0, and his body looked better and he showed some new moves. But in his
last fight I didn't see any progression whatsoever. It inspired me. It made me happy. I thought, 'Wow, if that athlete shows up it's going to be an interesting night.' It's like seeing your competitor reporter not doing his job great, it's good for you.”
Evans replied hilariously denoting Jones as Stevie Wonder and warned the 24-year-old champion in a serious manner the fact that, “He knows it's going to be the hardest fight of his career. He knows.” Both men will collide in Phillips Arena situated in Atlanta,
Georgia, United States on April 21, 2012.
