Jon Jones the best light heavyweight Ultimate Fighting Championship can ever possess – UFC Feature
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) allowed a young man to enter the light heavyweight roster on March 21, 2010 in an epic bout against one of the most feared brawler Brandon Vera.
The young 22-year-old thrashed his opponent and after the passage of just three minutes and 19 seconds used his vicious most significant part of the arsenal, the elbows, to collect a knockout win.
The world was shocked by the win of Greg Jackson’s new student. The young lad was none other than but Jon Jones who later on moved forward and toppled each and every obstacle to become the champion of UFC’s light heavyweight division.
In just two year’s Jones has reached at the pinnacle of his career and in a very short age has conquered one of the most hefty division in mixed martial arts’ flagship promotion organisation UFC.
Jones has been in a total 17 bouts and boasts 16 wins. He has nailed eight of his opponents by sheer knockout, five by submission, and three by decision. Jones has collected just one loss which was only due to a disqualification and since then is on a seven-bout
win streak.
The Rochester, New York proud can easily be denoted as one of the best in the UFC since he is somewhat an ideal individual who has achieved much in a very small age and has nailed names such as Lyoto Machida, Quinton Jackson, Mauricio Rua, Ryan Bader, and
Vladimir Matyushenko.
He has become the youngest ever UFC title holder and has successfully defended it as well in three bouts. In addition, his potential to attack and almost cut open the opponents face or body by his bare elbows is considered a very unique facet that has given
him the nick name of ‘Bones’.
Moreover, no one has up till now discovered the idea or broke Jones brawling style. The way he attacks his opponent and in a psychological way covers up the area around them, nobody not even a single brawler has come up with a solution to nullify his unique
style.
His lethalness increases with his unique extraordinary long height and lean legs. Every brawler who enters the octagon thinks that he can attack his legs and will halt his movement but they face this harsh reality that Jones power and game plan resides in
his long, lean legs that strike extraordinarily hard and inflict substantial damage.
Jones possesses a complete package of being an invincible guy but at the same time he has certain deficiencies that have made him a bit controversial in the eyes of most UFC fans.
Jon, who recently nailed Rashad Evans, is a bit arrogant and does not put forth the fans what they like the most that is a brutal straight-on one-on-one brawling style. Jones evades getting involved in a grappling situation unless and until taken into one.
In addition, he is famous for not respecting his peers and is somewhat dubbed as a brawler who has gained fame without doing anything. At the moment, it is an undeniable fact that there is no one left in the light heavyweight division who can stand up straight
against Jones.
Despite of all the above mentioned analysis, Chuck Liddell, the former light heavyweight champion’s comment are enough to silence Jones critics.
In a recent interview Chuck praised Jones for being a brawler who “keeps working at everything, he is hungry and motivated and he has the potential [to be the best].” Bones is truly an ideal personality who can be looked up by the emerging young men in UFC.
He has the ability to retain the title and has proved his worth by defending it thrice against Quinton Jackson, Lyoto Machida, and Rashad Evans. To be honest, he is undoubtedly the best youngest light heavyweight UFC has ever witnessed.
