Jonas Hogh-Christensen stretches his overall lead of Finn class: 2012 Olympic Games
Start of the sailing proceedings in 2012 London Olympic Games was tremendous as sailors from around the world were excited to launch their campaign in the event. The sailors across the globe waited for this moment for a long time and finally they were able
to apply their sailing skills in the races.
The sailing competitions started under ideal wind conditions where the breeze was gusting around the racing area on higher knots which were enough for the participants to have a complete schedule for the races. The sailors had tremendous support from their
fans ashore that came to watch some scintillating sailing show.
Races were commenced in Finn, Star, Laser and Laser Radial, RS:X Men and Women, 49er and Women Match Racing class. In the Finn class, the sailing experience was comparatively better than that of other classes because the line-up of Finn class had top guns
like Ben Ainslie, Zach Railey and Jonas Hogh-Christensen who stole the show during their run.
However, with some tremendous sailing genius on the London waters, Hogh-Christensen was able to clinch the top podium place of the Finn standings. During his run, the Danish sailor clinched three bullets which took him to the leading position.
On the first day of the proceedings, he claimed two first finishes on the first day which took him to the top of fleet. However, on the second day, he took a second along with a seventh which was discarded from overall scores. Another bullet and second finish
was enough for him to extend his lead with seven points.
Overall standings of Finn class so far:
