Jonathan Eysseric outlasts Gregoire Burquier in the round two – Geneva Open 2012 CH
Left-hander, Jonathan Eysseric, successfully journeyed into the second round of the IPP Geneva Open 2012.  He experienced the most thrilling three-set match against his compatriot, Gregoire Burquier and penned down his triumph,
6-3, 3-6, 7-5, at the indoor hard courts of GreenSet GrandPrix, Switzerland. The French pair concluded the match in exactly two hours on the eve of Thursday.
The 22-year-old, Eysseric began the initial set at a noteworthy pace and beautifully scooped the initial three games, marking a 3-0 lead. He completely shattered the hopes of his senior opponent, dominating the game plan with his
powerful serves and did not give him a single opportunity to take the lead. The two players held their serves for the major part of the opener but Burquier was unable to prove his real skills. Eysseric terminated the set with a 6-3 score line.
In the second set, the right-hander, Burquier, held his serve and for the first time cashing on his challenger’s serve in the fourth game. He displayed his experience by successfully pocketing away all the proceeding games without
facing any real ordeal. He sought his momentum towards the end of the set, which proved to the critical break for him. He confidently leapt forward and stole the front line with a 6-3 lead.
The world number 332, Eysseric, took an assertive start in the decider and rekindled his focus in the game. He achieved his long awaited serve break in the fourth game and brushed aside his challenger’s powerful serves to ease
his way to victory. He attained his fame after the eighth game as his rival completely stopped equalizing the score line. He stole the ultimate win with a 7-5 score.
Summing up the match stats, the 5ft 11in Eysseric shelled his challenger with 10 aces and committed double faults four times. He faced difficulty due to his lower initial serve of 51 percent with 36 of 48 first and 26 of 46 second
delivery points. The 28-year-old, Burquier, attained three from six first serve with 63 percent first serve accuracy.
