Jonathan Eysseric upsets Marco Chiudinelli in the round one – Geneva Open 2012 CH
Ranked 140th in the ATP (Association of Tennis Professionals) World Tour Rankings, Marco Chiudinelli, received a straight sets defeat at the hands of the French professional, Jonathan Eysseric. The lower ranked player
consolidated his 7-5, 6-1 triumph at the hard courts of GreenSet GrandPrix, Switzerland.
The 22-year-old French professional held his initial serve in the opening set but was unable to preserve his lead further. The local challenger boldly took the front line and cashed his rival’s serve in the third game. Chiudinelli
beautifully served with posie and reeled off all the crucial points as the games progressed. The winning order reversed in the 10th game, when Eysseric cashed his challenger’s serves in order to bring the score line to 5-all. From that point, he
completely lost his determination and the French junior nudged up the last two games and marked a 7-5 lead.
The left-hander French professional thundered by smashing five potent aces with 62 percent initial serve. He secured 16 of 23 first and 10 of 14 second delivery points. In response to that, Chiudinelli had 47 percent initial serve
and he just clinched 11 of 21 first and 14 of 24 second serve points. The local senior capitalized on one of three break points.
In the second set, the Swiss veteran seemed disappointed and lost his passion to fight back. The left-hander Frenchman progressed without facing any hindrance. He completely dominated his senior and clinched his serve in the fourth
game, stamping a 3-1 lead. He secured the lead using his overpowering serve and plucked his challenger’s serve in the six game of the set to bag the set with a bread stick.
The world number 332, Eysseric, constructed his momentum by firing six aces and had a 67 percent initial serve precision. He attained the lead by bagging away 11 of 12 first and five of six second delivery points. He amazing warded
off two of three serve breaks and his opponent was not even given a single chance. The 31-year-old Swiss double faulted twice and had a considerably lower initial serve of 48 percent. He attained six of 11 first and just five of 12 second serve points.
