Jonathan Huberdeau shows diversity in his game (Part 2)
The question that arises with the current performances that Huberdeau has displayed is how he has been able to change himself from a goal scorer to a player with various skills.
"You try to work on your weaknesses", Huberdeau said. "My skating, I tried to work on that. I'm not a very speedy guy, but I'm going to try to use my speed and get better and shoot more".
Huberdeau is one of the players who have a very unique way of talking. He is young but isn’t outspoken like other youngsters.
Sea Dogs’ coach, Gerard Gallant, said, "He's a passionate kid. He wants to win every puck battle, he wants to win every faceoff, and that's why he's the player he is. Everything he does … he does it hard. He goes to school, he's an excellent student. He
comes to practice, he works hard. He wants to get better. So that's why he’s taken it to the next level".
The player is already hoping that he would make it into the National Hockey League and in order to communicate with others in his future NHL team, he picked up English as a language course in his college to improve it.
This is because he believes that English is one of the common languages and French isn’t that common in the world of NHL.
So far, the performances that he has shown have been brilliant and some experts say that he is certain to reach great heights as some of the other players did.
Players like Casey Cizikas in 2009 was a fourth round pick who went to New York Islanders, Devante Smith-Pelly, another one of the brilliant performers was a second round pick in 2010 and went to Anaheim Ducks. They were all among the scorers in the first
game.
The first game of the Memorial Cup Final was close and witnessed Sea Dogs taking a single goal’s lead into the final period with the score on 3-2.
Huberdeau passed the puck to his teammate in the eighth minute of the final period to take the score to 4-2.
Huberdeau is very talent and with the performances that he has bagged, he has established his reputation of being among the game changing players.
Huberdeau said that his game is more like that of Tampa Bay Lightning’s captain, Vincent Lecavalier, and while play-making, he is more like Dallas Stars’ Mike Ribeiro.
If he continues to do what he has been doing so far, then we should expect him to go all the way into the National Hockey League and into a big team in the near future.
