Jonathan Lucroy shines as Milwaukee Brewers hammer Washington Nationals 6-2 – MLB Recap
Milwaukee Brewers hammered the Washington Nationals 6-2 in the third game of their four-match regular series encounter on Sunday, September 23 at Nationals Park in Washington.
"They're all crucial, We know that, but you've just got to go out and play. I thought that we played a good game today, Yo battled, his command at times was really good, but overall he was a little off today, He certainly did a good job of keeping us in the ballgame," Milwaukee manager Ron Roenicke said about his team’s performance in detail.
Jonathan Lucroy played beautifully and proved too good for the Nationals’ pitchers. He smashed two hits and ran for two important RBIs on his consistent slugging percentage at .509.
Ryan Braun also contributed in his team’s win as he added two runs and smashed two hits along with an RBI. He batted aggressively and maintained his slugging percentage at .601.

Brewers’ pitchers also played beautifully and landed a well fought victory to their team.
Yovani Gallardo did well in his five innings spell. He received two runs and six hits on 3.59 ERA. He struck-out five Nationals’ batters and showed his class.
Relief pitcher Brandon Kintzler also supported his team with great energy and did not pitch too way-ward. He received only one hit and maintained his ERA at 2.61.
"It's fun. All these games are fun to watch from back there, Then suddenly you're in the ballgame. It's intense. It's something I've been thinking about the whole year, hoping I'd be a part of," Kintzler said.
On the other hand, Nationals' pitchers were hammered with big hits as they could not control the offensive plays by the Brewers’ hitters who scored runs in quick succession and won the game in style.
Starter Chien-Ming Wang pitched four innings for the Nationals and received two runs and eight hits on his 6.60 ERA. He struck-out only two Brewers' batters and proved one of the losing factors for the Nationals.
