“I've always found http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 a fascinating place to tour because cricket is like a religion,” said Trott while speaking to media reporters on Wednesday. “Whenever you're on the team bus, you can see games of cricket taking place out of the window,” he added further.
Trott is currently touring India with the national team to play a four-match Test series against MS Dhoni and his Men in Blue. The series gets underway in Ahmedabad on November 15, while the remaining three matches will be played in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mumbai-c820, Kolkata and Nagpur.
The tourists are scheduled to play three warm-up matches ahead of the Test series. Their first practice game against India A ended in a draw. Trott scored 56 runs in that match before being bowled out by the opposition skipper http://www.senore.com/Cricket/SK-Raina-c2539.
Admitting that playing spin and reverse swing on the turning sub-continental tracks is a challenge, Trott, a veteran of 34 Tests and 54 One Day Internationals, said that sub-continent is a great place to bat.
“We're very good in our home conditions and teams struggle against us, so we have to work out how to take on India in theirs,” said the former South African, who averages almost 50 with the bat in both Test and ODI cricket. “You have to play spin and reverse-swing but it's a great place to bat if you manage to get in, which I'll be looking to do,” he added further.
