The prolific England star however, now feels that he would not have been getting the sort of success, if he did not cut down on the amount of drinking which he used to do.
He was cautious regarding the whole saga, claiming that people used to imagine him as a bad guy, which affected their judgment about the 30-year-old.

“In the past I’d have been at the front of the queue (for a drink). But I honestly don’t think I’d be sitting here today if I did still drink,” claimed the right-hander.
Talking about the change, he also shared that he wanted to test himself amongst the top cricketing nations as it was his desire to succeed at the highest level, which led him to constantly get better at his game.
