Jonathan Trott believes that a separate skipper for each format is a good idea
Jonathan Trott has praised the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 Cricket Board’s (ECB) decision of appointing three separate captains, Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook and Stuart Broad, for the three formats of the game.
The England team will face http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 in the upcoming Test series at home, starting the end of this month. Andrew Strauss is the Test team’s captain, but has retired from ODIs.
Cook will be the leading the English in ODIs after Strauss stepped down. Meanwhile Broad has been assigned to lead in the Twenty20 English side, replacing Paul Collingwood.
Conventional Cricket wisdom says that a separate captain for all three international formats provides the ideal platform for players to utilize their talents and assists them in sharing pressure.
England’s top-order batsman, Jonathan Trott, while talking to media said, "It's forward thinking in that other cricket boards might not have the guts to do it, If you look at all three guys, their cricketing nous is very, very good."
The 30-year-old player, who contributed 445 runs to the Ashes victory, spoke about the Series against Sri Lanka, saying, "Everyone tends to raise their game when they come to England. It's important to hit the ground running and set the tone for the summer, there's a lot of expectation after the Ashes, and from us as well.”
Trott has played 18 International Tests in his career and has scored 1600 runs, managing his average at 61.53.
In ODI matches, Trott opened his account against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Ireland-c751 in 2009. He has played 25 ODIs and scored 1280 runs with an average of 55.65.
He has 3 hundreds and 11 fifties in his One-day career including the highest score of 137.
In the Twenty20 format, Trott has featured in seven matches and scored 138 runs at an average of 23.00.
