Its a keeper league, we keep 4 players + 1 rookie. My team right now is RB - LT and Addai, QB - Peyton, WR - Sidney Rice

  1. Chad Johnson, you already have great RB's but I would stay away from any WR from Minnesota until they have a proven QB.

  2. Does your keeper cost anything, by way of a draft pick?

(My league "charges" two rounds above a players original draft, or a default spot for undrafted/other.)

If not, Chad Johnson is the safer pick.  Stewart could be a good value, but 85 is a proven commodity.

We don't know how Coach Fox in Carolina will divide the carries between DeAngelo Williams and Stewart.

DeAngelo has been injury prone, but obviously has more experience.

Stewart himself had toe surgery, but is expected to make a full recovery.

Given all the uncertainty, Chad Johnson is a safer play.

  3. i think you are better off gambling on sidney instead of jonathan. reasons:

    1. rb's are historically fragile, and almost no hyped college rb's have done well in the nfl with the exception of marshal faulk and emmit smith, 20 years ago. the odds are telling us to wait and see on rb's.

    2. carolina, for whatever reason, has a horrible record of keeping their players healthy. i don't recall the last season their team stayed healthy throughout the whole season. they are always missing at least 1-2 of their skill players every single game. imho, this is telling me either their practice regimen, their training staff, or their post-practice procedures are harming their players.

    3. minnesota, as a team, has everything clicking. they have a great o-line, an up-and-coming QB, a monster RB, and a solid defense. anybody in their system is almost guaranteed success.

    4. You don't need an RB. LT and Addai are about as good as you can get without bribing somebody. As a backup, Stewart is OK, but you can get somebody like jamal lewis, earnest graham, or ryan grant, who are guaranteed to play.

    5. You need a starting WR. Assuming Chad is the highest ADP wr available, you need him, although I would prefer somebody like wes welker or brandon marshall, anquan boldin, or even torry holt.
