Liverpool goalkeeper, Brad Jones, is confident that his side will soon improve on their current lamentable position in the league, following their 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
The Merseyside club, who are operating under the new management of Brendan Rodgers following Kenny Dalglish’s ouster this summer, have made a toilsome start to their campaign.
The men in red have only been able to collect 2 wins in their first 11 matches, pushing them down to the 13th place in the league standings.
However, the team are unbeaten in their last six league games, and have now played three draws on the bounce against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
Although their current league position does not present a very good reading, the Australian International feels that his side were headed in the right direction.
He said that despite struggling to grind out wins from close games, they had done remarkably well to overcome their slow start and are securing results nevertheless.
“We're continuing to pick up points and we're producing some good performances, and that's fantastic. As long as we keep getting better and keep improving then that's the way we want to head,” he told the reporters in an interview.
Jones, who has been guarding the goal in the absence of the regular http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Pepe-Reina-c29672, has enjoyed a decent spell recently, filling in the shoes of the Spaniard effectively.
However, the 30-year old stated that he was wary of the fact that he might be pushed to bench again, once Reina makes his comeback.
He further said that more exposure to professional football has helped him improve as a player and vowed to give it his best every time his manager asks him to play.
“It's especially difficult when you haven't played for a while but after a nice run of games, you get into it.”
“Players know what you are about and the understanding is there and it becomes easier. I don't know what will happen after Sunday but I've enjoyed the run and I'm happy with how it's gone.”
