Manchester United’s youth academy product, Jonny Evans revealed in his latest interview that he feared that he would be sold by Manchester United in the summer transfer window of 2011 due to his lack of form and performances in
the 2010-2011 Premier League season. Evans found it hard to displace Smalling as the third choice centre back at the club and thus feared that his time at Manchester United had come to an end. This time around, Sir Alex has already shown that he believes in Evans

Evans’ has also proved to be useful in the past at the left back spot, a role which Sir Alex Ferguson is not afraid of deploying him in, as he has a strong left foot unlike other defenders at the club. Evans told the reporters
that last season was perhaps his toughest one at the club since his return to Old Trafford after a successful loan spell at Sunderland.

standard for Manchester United so I have gone back to basics and worked hard. The manager never said anything to me and I never went to see him”
He added, “I was pretty confident the manager wouldn't get rid of me. I have always thought he has a bit of faith in me. Maybe you do have the odd doubt but I thought it would have been unfair if I had left, considering the two
seasons I had before. Last year wasn't a total disaster. There were times when I did feel good and others where I felt I needed that level of consistency every week.”
