Jonny Wilkinson returns to action for Toulon after one week after completing his Rugby World Cup run
French Top 14 professional Rugby Union outfit, Toulon, has named England’s international fly half Jonny Wilkinson to their match day 25 squad for the upcoming encounter against Perpignan. Officials at the club have confirmed the inclusion of Wilkinson to
Toulon’s squad for their weekend encounter in a statement released on their website on Thursday, October 13.
Toulon will take on Perpignan on Saturday, October 15 at Stade Félix-Mayol, Toulon. The inclusion in the squad has resulted in Wilkinson’s return to action just after a break of one week, following England’s 2011 Rugby World Cup (RWC) quarterfinal defeat,
which they suffered at the hands of France.
France defeated England 19 – 12 in the quarter-final of the RWC, which might prove to be Wilkinson’s last RWC game, if it is not his last international game for the country.
The 32-year-old Wilkinson was playing his fourth RWC tournament, since making his international debut in 1998. He made his international debut for England against the visiting Ireland team at Twickenham during April 1998. He so far has made 97 appearances
for England and has scored 1246 points, which includes seven tries, 169 conversions, 255 penalties and 36-drop goals.
Wilkinson set the record of the highest points scored in international games in 2008. He held the record until recently when Dan Carter over took his record for most international points scored. His inclusion will pave the way for Toulon’s flight to the
top of the Top 14 table in the season.
Besides, Wilkinson, Toulon has also named Georgian World Cup front row forwards player Davit Kubriashvili in the squad.  Kubriashvili played at the prop position for Georgia in their 2011 RWC campaign.
Toulon’s 25-man squad for their weekend encounter against the Perpignan consists of:
Forwards (14): Steffon Armitage - Sébastien BRUNO - Joe EL ABD - EMMANUELLI Laurent - Jean-Philippe GENEVA - Pierrick GUNTHER - Carl Hayman - Davit KUBRIASHVILI - Eifion Lewis-Roberts - Christophe  Samson - Dean Schofield - Jocelino SUTA
- Jone Tawaka - Joe Van Niekerk.
Back (11): Mathieu Bastareaud - Fabien CIBRAY - Benjamin Lapeyre - Christian LOAMANU - Geoffroy MESSINA - Andre Pretorius - Luke ROONEY - Jeremy SINZELLE - David SMITH - Sebastian Tillous-Borde - Jonny Wilkinson.
