Approached by new OGC coach Claude Puel, the young Ghanaian striker has chosen to stay at the Stade Velodrome for one more season
The 2012/2013 Ligue 1 campaign will see http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 field a squad that would be a mixture of experience and youth. Financial woes mean that Les Phoceens are set to lose the services of a host of big-name players.
The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 and Loic Remy are set to leave Canebiere for pastures new but that in no way means that the club will allow the younger players to jump ship especially when their careers have just kicked off.
Reports claim that OGC Nice are keen on signing Andre Ayew’s younger brother http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-Ayew-c19098. Newly-appointed Les Aiglons coach Claude Puel, is keen on signing the 20-year-old striker.
A product of the club’s youth academy, Ayew has experienced a linear progression at the club so far.
La Provence claims that Claude Puel recently tried his luck on Ayew. However, Jordan Ayew himself chose to stay at Marseille and help the club return to its former glory next season. Though Andre is expected to leave the Velodrome, Jordan has decided to
stay put at the club in a bid to gain more experience.
AS Saint-Etienne were also reportedly interested in the young striker’s services. Reports claim that both clubs were actually interested in bringing the player on a season long loan. However, it appears that Les Phoceens see Jordan Ayew as an integral part
of the club’s plans for the upcoming campaign and are not looking to offload him at all.
Furthermore, the departure of Loic Remy could see Jordan feature more regularly in the first-team and the youngster would not want to deny himself of this opportunity by leaving the club.
Marseille are not going to feature in the Champions League next season but for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordan-c2929 Ayew, playing in the Europa League would be a great opportunity to further hone his skills.
Moreover, Les Phoceens are going to largely rely on youth for next season and Jordan Ayew being one of the most talented youngsters at the club, knows the importance of staying put for next season.
