The Ghana international has asked for more playing time from new Marseille coach Elie Baup next season or the player will seek a move away from Stade Velodrome
The 20-year-old was on the verge of leaving Les Phoceens on a loan deal at the end of last season. However, the Ghanaian's move has been blocked with the appointment of Elie Baup as the club coach, who wants to rebuild his team ahead of the new season and
Ayew is believed to be very much in his plans.
Bosses at the club are against the idea of loaning out the player as his contract is set to expire next summer and Marseille do not want to lose the youngster for free at the end of the next season.
Ayew, capped eight times by the Ghana national side, was mostly used as a substitute last season under Didier Deschamps.
While talking to reporters, the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ghana-c2905 international expressed his desire to play regularly for the Rhone giants. The youngster stated that he might leave L’OM in search of regular football, either on a loan deal or on a permanent transfer.
“I'm not here to sit on a bench. I want to be trusted and allowed to play as a starter whether at Marseille or elsewhere,” the Ghanaian told reporters.
The Ghana international knows that his employers do not wish him to leave and has seen his loan deal blocked by the club, earlier in the summer. However, Ayew stated that there is still a lot of time left until the end of the transfer window and it is still
early to rule anything out.
“I have time, until the end of the transfer window (September 4) anything can happen,”
Marseille coach Elie Baup has revealed that Jordon Ayew is very much in his plans for the future and he wants him to stay with the club.
“Jordan is someone who I will of course count on. I don't know if he starts all of the games or not. It depends on his performance and attitude. It is perhaps possible, but we want him here,” said the new Marseille coach.
Jordon Ayew managed to make 34 appearances for Marseille in the Ligue 1 last season, mostly from the bench. The Ghanaian scored 3 goals in his last season and provided few assists for his team-mates in the process.
