However, Henderson believes that both Parker and Gerrard are good enough to appear in all of England’s games in the European Championships, but conceded he will do his best to fill their shoes given any of them is ruled out due to injury.
He also let out his delight of representing his country against the Les Bleus on Monday, describing it as an amazing feeling.
He said in an interview, “I had to treat it like any other game. It was another amazing experience for me.”
Henderson, was initially overlooked by Hodgson in his 23-man squad list for the competition, but received a belated call-up after http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Frank-Lampard-c14097 was ruled out of the tournament due to an injury. His selection was met with severe criticism by people from across
the board, given his failure to make an impact at Liverpool last season.
However, Henderson indicated that he was not disconcerted by the disparagement in the media over his selection, and had set his focus in earning a place in the starting eleven.
He added, “There have been a few changes, but changes I was pleased with. I wanted to come away with the squad. I have been able to do that.”
“The last 12 months have gone quickly, but I am delighted to be in the squad. Now I want to try and get myself in the team.”
Touching the subject of the Three Lions performance against France, Henderson felt that despite the fact that their opponents enjoyed majority of the possession during the game, it was England who created the better goal scoring opportunities, and could
have secured a surprise win had they converted from their chances.
He also warned his side not to take Sweden lightly in their next game, and believed that the fixture promises to be an exciting one.
