Jordan Pacheco’s triple RBIs help Colorado Rockies defeat Cincinnati Reds 12-7 – MLB Update
Colorado Rockies’ third baseman, Jordan Pacheco had a remarkable day with the bat as he hit three RBIs including one run and went 3-for-5 with an average of .357 in the Rockies’ 12-7 win against the Cincinnati Reds at Coors Field, Colorado on September 10.
During the first inning, Reds scored one run and Rockies smashed four quick runs to get a 4-1 lead. Chris Heisey posted a single run when Joey Votto bunted a single-run drive towards centre-field. Later on, Votto moved to second base on the throwing error
of Rockies’ centre-fielder Dexter Fowler.
On the other hand, Mark Ellis hit a solo homer towards left-field to tie the game. The second or leading run for the Rockies was taken by Carlos Gonzalez when Troy Tulowitzki singled off left-field. Jason Giambi struck a two-run homer to centre-field and
Tulowitzki added the fourth run to Rockies score-card. In the second inning, Rockies further increased their lead to 6-1 by posting two runs.
Fowler also hit a two-run homer to right-field and Alex White added a single run. Reds’ batters also kept themselves alive and smashed three runs during the third inning to reduce their lead 6-4. Heisey homered to left-field and Jay Bruce added a single
run when Jeff Francisco struck a solo home-run towards right-field.
Tulowitzki hit a sacrifice fly to left-field and Ellis posted a single run to give the Rockies a 7-4 lead at the bottom of fourth inning. Reds’ batters struck three home-runs in the fifth inning to tie the game but Rockies also hit a solo homer to take an
8-7 lead. Heisey and Votto both homered towards left-field while Bruce homered to right-field. Conversely, Pacheco hit a one-run homer towards centre-field to give the Rockies a convincing lead.
White was expensive with the ball as he pitched his five innings with an ERA of 8.18 and was able to strike-out only one batter. He permitted eight hits, seven runs, five homers and six earned runs.
In the eighth inning, Rockies’ batters stepped on the gas to blast four runs and took a 12-7 lead. Chris Nelson, Gonzalez, Tulowitzki and Eric Young Jr. each singled to complete a four-run campaign for the Rockies during eighth inning.
As a result, the Rockies tied the three-game series 1-1 against the Reds at Colorado.
