Jordan Staal liking New, Red look with Carolina Hurricanes -NHL Update
In the process of moving into his permanent position with Carolina Hurricanes, that will most likely have him until the end of his career, Jordan Staal was overjoyed as general manager Jim Rutherford present him with his new, red jersey with the same old
number 11 on it.
“I think I look pretty good in red,” Staal said, during the press conference alongside GM Rutherford.
Staal tried on his new jersey at the PNC Arena in Raleigh, North Carolina, and hopefully, joining the team and adjusting to their style of play will take the same amount of effort as putting on the Hurricanes uniform.
Carolina is also excited to have a player like Alexander Semin on the line-up, who is also joining another team for the first time in his career after starting off with Washington Capitals.
“There’s going to be an adjustment period for Alex,” GM Rutherford said Friday about Semin. “He’s played his whole career in Washington and certainly the fact he doesn’t know many or any guys on our team, there will be a bigger adjustment for him.”
But for the management, they are assured that Semin will also fit in quite well as he has reaffirmed his position and dedication to exceed expectations.
“But he really wants to do well. And he’s talented enough that in that adjustment period, however long it may be, he will be able to contribute to the team. We’re all hoping this works for everybody. If it does Alex could find a home here for a long time,”
Rutherford added.
Jordan Staal, a 23-year-old who will finally be reunited with brother and captain of the Carolina team, Eric Staal, is currently searching for a new home in Raleigh with a 10-year contract worth $60 million.
He may still have a lot of time to play after this deal comes to an end but most likely will continue with the team he has decided to help take to the Stanley Cup Finals with everything in his abilities.
It will definitely be interesting to see how Jordan Staal brings on board what he has learned from Sidney Crosby and Pittsburgh Penguins to the Carolina Hurricanes team.
