Jordansoilutions wins Betfred Select Stakes at Nottingham
Jordansoilutions took advantage of the absence of Blue Artisan last night winning the £7,500 Betfred Select Stakes at Nottingham Thursday night. Charlie Lister’s greyhound took the race with a time of 29.90 seconds over defending champion Windy Millar.
Ballymac Ace was first to lead, but let Jordansoilutions pass after the first bend. From there Jordansoilutions never looked back, winning by 2 1/2 lengths over Windy Millar. The 6-4 race favourite, Head Iton Ellis, took third after losing ground early. Ballymac Ace lost further ground after the third bend and finished in fifth. Target Classic finished last.
Just ahead of the Select Stakes was the Betfred Select Stayers Stakes. Lorrys Options won the £2,500 730m race over 2-1 race favourite, Midway Skipper, with a time of 45.64. Options took the lead midway through the race, and then had to hold off a charging Skipper to win by a head. Beautiful City took third place after leading the first half of the race. Carbarns Tom, and Ten Dollars More, both lost ground early and finished in fourth and fifth respectively. Capel Yankee, a 10-1 longshot running out of the first trap, didn’t make much of an impact on the race.
Corby Don won the £1,000 Betfred ‘The Bonus King’ Sprint Trophy with a time of 17.87. Don took the 305m race over 1-2 race favourite, Jimmy Lollie, by a length. Don led from the traps and was never in danger of losing the shorter distance race. Target Brett took third over very longshot Salacres Meako. 25-1 longshot, Meako, beat Zupjack by a head to take fourth. Frosty Lee was slow out of the traps and could not recover finishing in sixth place.
Race favourite, Boher Paddy, won the £1,000 Betfred When Both Teams Score Puppy Cup over Droopys Noreen. Paddy came into the race at 4-5 and didn’t disappoint, but had to surpass 16-1 longshot Noreen. Noreen took the lead after the first bend and held on until Paddy took it for good after the third bend. Noreen ended in second 2 lengths ahead of Taylors Cruise. Millroad Joe took fourth and Courtcraft Mac took fifth. Droopys Master at 9-2 finished in last.
In the £1,000 Betfred Fred’s Lucky Numbers Standard Trophy race, Killough Quinn beat 12-1 longshot, Driving Up Local, by a head. It was a close race that saw Local led after the second bend, and Quinn take a slim lead after the third bend. Proud Dodge was close behind in third, and 7-4 race favourite, Droopys Joe, took fourth. Bower Eagle finished in fifth, and 12-1 longshot, Bridge Flash, finished way behind the pack in last.
