The newly signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011 were deserving champions after the hard work they put in.
Spain were the winners of Euro 2012 after they humiliated http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 in the final of the competition, winning the match 4-0.
As Andres Iniesta was the man-to-watch for Spain not only during the final but in fact throughout the competition, it was http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jordi-Alba-c19111 who was the surprise package for La Furia Roja.
Alba became Barcelona’s first signing during this transfer window and the Spaniard showed the world that the Catalans have signed someone who is able to do wonders while he’s on the ball.
The Spanish full-back is phenomenal defensively, as well as while moving up the flank and aiding the team in the final third.
During the Euro 2012, Alba was able to score a goal in the final to help his side win the competition. The goal came in the first half of the final against Italy.
While speaking about the goal he scored, Alba said:
"It was a great move, I saw that there was a gap there and ran for it, then Xavi sent me a great pass, right where I needed it. I was lucky enough to take a good touch and finish where I had to.”
Alba was definitely considered to be the surprise of the tournament. Being the youngster that he is, he was not expected to perform like this at such a big stage; especially since he was replacing the former Villarreal star, Capdevila.
While speaking about his performance during the Euro, the Spaniard said:
"I don't think of myself as the surprise of the tournament, the coach has given me all the confidence in the world, both him and my team-mates in fact. The consequence was a good tournament, both individually and collectively and this is the result, we are
champions, and deservedly so."
Alba is now officially a Barcelona player and since he will be replacing Eric Abidal in the line-up, he definitely has a huge responsibility on his shoulders.
Barcelona have definitely signed one of the best full-backs in the transfer market and with Alves and Alba playing in the full-back positions, the Spanish giants are now going to be even a greater attacking threat than before.
