Jordy or Dane?

Question

Who has a better shot at the ASPWT? Better? General feelings?

This is sort of just a discussion question.

Well, they are both already on the tour.  Are you asking who has a better shot at the title??  Probably Dane, but neither of them for this year.  Jordy came into the season completely over-hyped by the media and talking all kind of c**p about how he was gonna finish in the top 5 and win the title in his first 3 years.  He hasn't done c**p this year.  Dane came in talking about how wasn't even sure he liked competing but he surfs consistently well and has put together a respectable season so far.

sir kelly slater of course.. The best surfer in the world ever.. He already has pretty much an unbeatable lead

In my opinion Dane is a better all around surfer which would lead to better overall success on the tour.  He has skills to tear up any beach break, slabbing left-hand barrel, or ripping right-hand point.  However, he has such a lackadaisical approach to competitive surfing that he may never fully realize his potential.  In fact, I could see him pulling a Bruce Irons somewhere in the future and just leave the tour to focus on free surfing.  Jordy has way more drive and competitive desire.  He just needs to work on rounding out his surfing.  Homeboy can rip off aerials and fly down the line but when it comes to stalling in tubes or making 3ft Trestles look epic, he is behind the 8ball.  Did you see their head to head heat at Chopes.  Dane took Jordy to school.
