Jorge Lorenzo is looking forward towards upcoming US Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Jorge Lorenzo, the current MotoGP drivers’ championship leader is looking forward towards the upcoming Red Bull US Grand Prix.
The Spanish rider is expecting to give the same performance in the upcoming event as he has given in the recent grands prix, except the mishap at Assen, where he faced an accident last month. He said that he is expecting to leave the US Grand Prix as either
winner or runners up.
The Yamaha factory racing rider further added that he loves the Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca circuit and is very comfortable in racing there. Moreover, he said that he has always ended on the podium on the Californian track, which is also a reason due to which
he likes the circuit.
Lorenzo said, “I have always had great races here in Laguna in MotoGP and always finish on the podium. I love the circuit, the corkscrew corner is amazing and the American fans always make an incredible atmosphere for us.”
The team manager, Wilco Zeelenberg is of the view that the Spanish rider is known to perform well at Laguna circuit. He further added that last year he faced an accident in the qualifying round due to which he was not able to give his usual performance.
Lorenzo’s teammate, Ben Spies, is of the view that racing on the home ground is always interesting and it always has a distinct and charming feel. He says that it will be interesting to race on a well-acquainted track and he will be trying to turn things
around for his fans through convincing driving.
Moreover, Lorenzo said that he had some great experiences of racing in AMA. Besides, his performances in first two visits of Laguna Seca were also convincing.
“It’s always special racing in front of your home crowd. It’s been a pretty rough season so far but we’ll see if we can turn it round here, put on a good show for all my fans and change it up for the second half of the year,” he added.
