Jorge Lorenzo of Repsol Honda tries the 2013 bike at Brno Test – MotoGP news
Jorge Lorenzo of Repsol Honda tried a new prototype bike at the Brno Test on Monday.
This bike is designed for the next 2013 season. His teammate, Ben Spies worked on the base of their bike.
The world championship leader said that they tried the prototype for the bike designed for the next 2013 season. He added that their engineers will now take the collected technical data to prepare for the next test.
He said, “We tried the 2013 bike today, for the moment it’s a prototype so not the final one. The engineers will now take the data away to prepare for our next test.”
Furthermore, he said that they also worked with the breaks. He added that this was the area where he struggled with Pedrosa at Brno Grand Prix. Besides, he said that they have found some improvement which will help them save some time during the race.
“We also worked on braking which was where I struggled with Dani during yesterday’s race,” he said.
Spies said that he did not had much to do during the Brno Test. He added that they spent their time setting up the base of their bike. Besides, he said that they will go to Aragon, the next week, to do further practice so that they may achieve better result
in the upcoming Italian Grand Prix.
He said, “There was not so much for us to do today, we spent some time this morning working on the base set up of the bike which completed our test schedule. We’ll go to Aragon next week to continue and see if it helps us for the next race in Misano.”
Lorenzo finished the Czech Republic Grand Prix after a close battle with Dani Pedrosa of Repsol, as runners up, with a gap of just 0.178 seconds, adding 20 championship points.
For the next 2013 season, Valentino Rossi will be joining Jorge Lorenzo, replacing Spies, because Spies has announced his retirement from Yamaha.
Let’s see if the new prototype suits the seven times champion or will he still be facing bad luck on the circuit.
