Jorge Lorenzo says he likes to go fast on the Aragon circuit – MotoGP news
Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing told that he wants to go fast over the circuit and is not concerned with the calculations related to the points. He wants to the win the upcoming Aragon Grand Prix at his home ground despite under a lot of pressure.
He told that he is under a lot of pressure despite of improved situation after his victory at Misano and wants to show impressive results in all the sessions of every remaining grand prix in the current season.
Jorge Lorenzo said, “There are five more races until the end and 125 points to take, and yes, the situation is much better than before Misano. But there is still a lot of pressure, so we have to be concentrated in every practice and every session. For me
it’s not very comfortable [thinking about points]; I don’t like to think about the points and mathematics. I like to go fast.”
The Championship leader won the Italian Grand Prix and set a huge gap of 38 points with Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda. According to the calculations, this total is not achievable by any other rider if Lorenzo manages to finish at least at the second position
in the remainder of the season.
The Yamaha rider told that he is not focussing over the mathematics related to the championship points rather he wants to win every race and go fast over the circuit.
The impressive lead was attained by the Spanish rider after his old rival and the runner up in title, Pedrosa, crashed in the very first lap of Italian GP, thus losing all points and widening gap with the championship leader. Pedrosa had attained the pole
during the qualifying session of the Italian GP.
Currently, Lorenzo holds 270 points in the championship whereas Dani Pedrosa has attained 232 points, until now. There are six races left in the current season.
Let’s see how the Championship leader performs in the upcoming Spanish GP scheduled two days from now, it will be interesting to see the battle because the Honda rider has exhibited impressive speed over the circuit.
