Jorge Lorenzo says they must work hard to keep the championship lead – MotoGP news
Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing is of the view that they have to keep working hard in order to keep their championship lead while his teammate Ben Spies is all set to give Misano circuit his best shot.
The championship leader hopes to increase his championship lead at the Italian Grand Prix.
He told that they still have the championship lead and they are ambitious towards increasing the championship lead at the Italian GP.
He said, “We arrive at Misano still leading the championship so we must work hard this weekend to keep it and if possible to increase it.[It] is a track I like very much, we had a great victory here last year and many podium finishes.”
He added that they will be trying to make it to the podium and if it were possible they would try to win the Italian GP.
Team manager of Yamaha, Wilco Zeelenberg, doubled the views of Lorenzo saying that they want to increase their championship lead. He anticipates that Lorenzo will prove himself, in the current season again at the Italian GP, as he did the last year.
The other rider of Yamaha, Ben Spies, said that he will try to give his 100 percent in the Italian GP. He added that he enjoys the circuit very much and he hopes to finish the race clean without mishaps. The American rider said that this year has been an
unbelievable year for him.
“Misano is a track I really enjoy riding, I've had some great races here. I think if we'd had a couple more laps last year then I could have maybe been past Andrea [Dovizioso] and Marco [Simoncelli in the battle for fourth place],” Spies said.
Spies has been unable to finish the last three race he had started due to mishaps over the circuit. He crashed in the Czech Republic Grand Prix pushing hard to recover to his position due to his slipping clutch. He crashed 14 laps prior to the finish line.
Let’s see how the Spaniard and the American rider perform at the Italian GP because Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda is showing impressive performances over the circuit. In the current 2012 season he has been unable to finish on the podium for one time only
at the France Grand Prix.
