Jorge Lorenzo thinks his relationship with Valentino Rossi has improved over the years – MotoGP news
Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing thinks that his relationship with Valentino Rossi has improved over the years.
He said that they are winning riders and once they get on the circuit, they try to give their best performance. Furthermore, he said that their relationship has improved because they were in different teams.
The Spaniard added that it will be motivating to have him back as a teammate with a winning bike. He added that it is always good to have impressive riders in the garage.
Talking about the expected competition in the next 2013 season, between the two old teammates, the Spanish said that the Italian will try to beat him on the circuit and this will increase his motivation towards winning the race and thus it will benefit Yamaha
eventually.
He said, “It's a big motivation to have him back because I always like to have the best riders in my garage. Valentino is one of them. I assume trying to beat me will be a big motivation for him. For Yamaha, it will be a good thing, that's the most important
thing.”
Lorenzo also added that he does not believe that a champion like Rossi can lose the talent he had in a matter of two years. He added that with a challenging bike like Yamaha it will be easy for the Italian rider to recover and get back to the winning streak.
He said, “Someone who has talent normally keeps it and doesn't lose it like this in two years... but we have to remember that Valentino has won a lot of races. We have to respect that and keep it in mind.”
Moreover, he said that we should keep it in mind that Rossi has not grown too old but being a more experienced rider they should respect him. He said that it is true that young riders are giving impressive performances on the circuit but Rossi’s past consistent
winning performances deserves him some respect.
Rossi and Lorenzo were teammate before Rossi joined Ducati because had some concerns that he was not being respected by the team he deserved.
