Wow, i barely found out like 10 Mins ago , and Posada will have an MRI tomorrow and hope, he doesnt have season ending surgery, i know he will have some at the end of the season, but he is a HUGE Part of the Yankees

I think we should stick with Molina he has thrown out alot of base runners and could hit as well Chad Moeller will also play some games. Theres no many catchers in the market so I guess we gotta deal with Molina and Moeller platoon

Who cares?  What does he have like 3 homers?  He has been a non factor this whole season.  I'll tell you what we do now.  We'll hit into less double plays and strike out less with runners in scoring position.

Molina isn't very good with the bat, but he is more than adequate as a defensive catcher, and he throws guys out with a vengence. Just like his brothers. Not too much to worry about.

theyll be fine. molinas the best catcher defensively in the league right now. hes thrown out 26/53 (49.1%) that try to steal.

i think that molina should do fine- if he stuggles then maybe the yankees should go after someone- but i think molina should be able to fill in- hey how about that walf-off hit by pitch the other day

Jose Molina will be the yankees catcher. I know hitting is not his specialty, but he is leading the league in throwing out baserunners (48.5%). Plus, the pitchers seem do be doing very well with him behind the plate.

By losing Posada, the yankees will need another power hitter. They've needed that all season long. And Richie Sexson is not the solution. The only power threats in that lineup are A-Rod and Giambi and sometimes Cano.

The yankees need to find someone soon, i suggest Mark Texeira, or we might be missing the playoffs for the first time in 14 years.

Molina will become the everyday starting catcher. I'm a fan of Posadas (especially with his productivity last year) but as of late I would rather have Molina behind the plate. The past few games with Posada behind the plate, opposing baserunners went wild on his surgery-repaired arm and that's not cool. Molina is the best catcher in the major leagues at throwing out basestealers. And Posada wasn't having his best year at the plate (batting) either and his offensive numbers were not that much better than Molinas. So yea, Jorge going to the DL might not be at such a bad time. Who knows, maybe he'll get his stroke back when he returns (-: (.338 ba last year)

The yankees would probably call up a catcher from AAA to play third-string catcher.

While unfortunate for the Yankees, Posada is my favorite player on the team, injury is something that all teams must face. Molina has done an exceptional job behind the plate this year, so I believe that the Yankees will deal with it as best they can. The only thing that concerns me is while Jeter has the official title of Captain, I have alwyas felt that Posada s truly "The Captain". He is the one who sends out the message when the team is not playing up to speed. This is why I truly feel that many catchers translate into good managers eventually, such as Girardi has done and even Torre before him. Posada will be missed, no doubt, but getting healthy is most important.

well the yankees pitching is doing much better and molina is really shaping up. Moeller is a good backup rookie catcher as well. this year there are many rookies who are stepping up to help the yankees cuz there were many injuries this year.

They'll lean heavier on Molina.. least he's had a lot of games to be the every day catcher and Moeller is a good backup.
