President of the Portuguese referees association, Jorge Sousa, revealed that all the happenings had put up a great buildup for the Friday derby and said that he hopes that the occasion lives up to his hype.
Reigning champions, FC Porto, are due to take on Benfica in arguably the biggest match of the season at Estadio do Dragao tomorrow. The tension is palpable now.
Both sides have staked their claims in securing all three points against their arch-rivals and the fact that they are neck and neck in the standings has further added to the billing.
With everybody taking out time to watch the crucial tie, President of the Portuguese referees association Jorge Sousa revealed that he was no different.
Sousa said that everything had boiled down to the showdown at Stadium of the Dragons and it could potentially be a cracker.
The supremo also said to reporters that the derby was of utmost importance and it was imperative that a properly experienced official will take charge. He also hoped that everything will go according to plan and it will be a moment to savour.
"There will be an experienced referee, who is an international, for this was the one. We hope that everything runs within the normal range,” he said.
