Olympique de Marseille’s transfer window ambitions might hit a road block as Anigo and Deschamps are not on the same wavelength for bringing Caen midfielder Romain Hamouma
After guiding http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 to Coupe de la Ligue glory a on Saturday, Didier Deschamps was in a bullish mood.
“Nobody can take it away from me, even my worst enemies,” unleashed the former World Cup winner who has now provided Les Phoceens their sixth title in 3 years.
However, despite this, question marks remain over his future at the club. many French newspapers have written their own versions regarding the coach’s future.
“The Enigma Deschamps (L’Equipe), “Deschamps, can he stay? (Aujourd’h*i en http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899)”, “Deschamps maintains secrecy (La Provence),” are few of the headlines that clearly say that Didier Deschamps is not sure about his future at the club.
Naturally, his conflicting relationship with sporting director Jose Anigo is perhaps one of the biggest reasons why Deschamps’ future is still a mystery. The two men have never seen eye to eye and have not spoken since October 22 which clearly means that
becoming colleagues for the next season could be impossible.
Very patiently, Jose Anigo waits for the departure of Deschamps to get into the limelight. One thing is for sure, today, he is not on the same wavelength as Deschamps in transfer matters.
L’Equipe claims that there are dissensions between the two regarding the case of Romain Hamouma. Anigo and Labrune are clearly excited over the prospect of signing the attacking midfielder from Caen. However, Deschamps is not as excited as the two.
And the latter has all the right cards to play when it comes to signing the players.
The difficult environment and the hostilities could push Deschamps towards a departure which may not be that surprising after all. And the president, Labrune might not always show such serenity either.
“I assume you saw we made heaven and earth to keep him last June, we set ourselves targets and an organisation for the medium term. We will do a review at the end of the season, like every year, formulise a roadmap for the next season. Dispute between Didier
and Jose? It’s not my news. See you in a month.”
These statements made by Labrune clearly mean that the president will not be listening to Deschamps if he is beyond reason so Monsieur Deschamps should see that he is walking on a tight rope at the moment.
