The Olympique de Marseille president has once again reassured fans that they should not worry about an exodus in the summer transfer window
Things are not rosy at http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Olympique-de-Marseille-c40127 at all. Les Phoceens are facing a financial crisis and cannot spend lavishly in the summer transfer window this time around.
Earlier this month, it was believed that Marseille have put every single player on the transfer list. Les Phoceens are desperate to ease the burden on the payroll and have no other option but to sell a few of their star players.
Already, the likes of Nicolas N’Koulou, Stephane Mbia, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Valbuena-c24690, Andre Ayew and a host of other players have been linked with moves away from Stade Velodrome.
While talking to media, sporting director Jose Anigo allayed fans’ fears of a mass exodus this summer by revealing that there would be no such thing as that and asked fans to remain optimistic.
“Do not sink into total pessimism. Supporters of OM should not expect an exodus. It will not happen. Departures will be checked, the team will be in continuity. We work with discretion.”
Anigo says that the club will remain ambitious. However, his speech hasn’t really produced the desired effect. Many Marseille players are worried about the growing uncertainty around the club and don’t want to commit themselves for next season so soon.
Yesterday, while giving an interview to Le Provence, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Souleymane-Diawara-c33850 admitted that there are players who are questioning about things happening at the club.
“What’s going on at the club? the problems are unresolved. This club is becoming increasingly bizarre,” says a player who wanted to remain anonymous.
Already, the likes of Andre Ayew and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Morgan-Amalfitano-c26799 have expressed their desire to leave the club this summer. It will be even more difficult to retain players as coach Didier Deschamps’ future at the club is still far from settled.
Jose Anigo is trying his best to recruit the best possible players but it is definitely not an easy http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684. The club has introduced a new austerity plan and it means that attracting players to the club has become even more harder than it already is. .
