Jose Bautista shines as Toronto Blue Jays tumble Milwaukee Brewers 10-9 – MLB Update
Toronto Blue Jays showed great composure and fighting abilities as they stunned Milwaukee Brewers 10-9 at Miller Park in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on Tuesday, June 19 in the second game of their three match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
With the Brewers leading 9-6 in the sixth, not many would have fancied the Blue Jays to win the game but John Farrell’s men showed just what they are capable as they came back from behind to register a memorable victory.
Brett Lawrie homered to centre in the third inning to break the deadlock and provide the Blue Jays with a crucial 2-0 lead. The Brewers used their home conditions to great effect to level score 2-2 in the third innings. With momentum on their side, the Brewers
continued to play aggressively to asset dominance over their rivals.
Credit must be given to Blue Jays offence for the way they responded to pressure situations during the contest. Colby Rasmus and Jose Bautista played a key role in deciding the result of the game as they both homered twice.
Edwin Encarnacion also had a decent time on the plate, hitting a mighty 433 feet home run in the sixth to keep his side in the game.
"We know that we're in a stretch of time here where we're completely unsettled in our rotation with consistency through the turn of the rotation multiple times," Blue Jays manager John Farrell said. "That doesn't deter anybody in here. Even after a tough
ballgame last night, the overall attitude of this group is outstanding."
"Even when we scored the four runs to go up by two and give back five, there was never any letdown," Farrell said. "We'll work through the situation we're in."
In some ways it was a huge win for the Blue Jays who have taken another step towards the right direction. So far, the series between the Blue Jays and Milwaukee is turning out to be a thriller.
The Brewers edged Toronto 7-6 in the opening game and they were expected to blow away their opponents on Tuesday to take a decisive 2-0 lead in the series but that did not turn out to be the case.
