Jose Bosingwa terms 2011 winter transfers ‘crazy’
Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Portugal-c2984 right back Jose Bosingwa has labelled the 2011 winter transfer window deadline day as ‘crazy’ because of the huge amounts English clubs spent on that day.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 for a British record fee of £50 million and David Luiz for £25 million on the last day of the transfer window. Liverpool also spent £35 million to bring Andy Carroll of Newcastle United as Torres’ replacement.
Jose Bosingwa has insisted that he was happy to have two new players in his side but also expressed his shock at the amount of money that was spent.
“I was watching the end of the transfer window like everybody was. I was watching it on the internet in the hotel where we were staying and it was crazy, but good for us,” said the right back.
Bosingwa started the match against Liverpool in which Torres and David Luiz made their Chelsea debut. Even though the Blues suffered a one-nil home defeat against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, the Portuguese right back was impressed by the performance of the new duo.
Bosingwa was called off to bring David Luiz on the pitch for the first time in the Barclays Premier League. The Portuguese right back hailed Luiz’s last 20-minute contribution and predicted that the young defender would make a strong defensive partnership
with the club captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/John-Terry-c18895.
The 28-year-old said that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/David-Luiz-c10542 is one of the most gifted footballers and has the ability to bring something extraordinary to the club. Bosingwa added that the Brazilian is the future of the Blues and expected him to feature regularly in Chelsea’s first
team.
Bosingwa was not part of the Chelsea squad which won the famous double of Barclays Premier League and FA Cup in the 2009-10 season because of a knee injury. But the right back now desperately wants to help his side return to their top form as they are 10
points behind league leaders, Manchester United.
“At the end of last season I was happy because the team won two trophies but I was sad because I didn't help my team, I didn't play. I didn't do my job and it was difficult because of this. Now I am doing what I love. Football is my life and I am happy now,”
he added.
