<p><strong>Los Blancos youth academy graduate is hungry for more first team action after hitting the back of the net 13 times in his 37 competitive outings.</strong></p> <p>Jose Callejon failed to breakthrough into Real Madrid’s first team after he graduated from the youth ranks, and is unwilling to see a repeat of his past mistakes. The cantera product wants more first team minutes in Jose Mourinho’s third season at the club, and an improvement of his personal stats.</p> <p>With the two weeks remaining until the formal start of the season, Callejon stated that he has nothing on his mind except playing for Real Madrid first team. He added that he is eyeing an improvement in his stats for the coming campaign, as he wants to better in terms of his scoring prowess at the Santiago Bernabeu.</p> <p>"I just want to play," he was quoted on Real Madrid’s official website. "I hope to do better than last year and score more goals. I hope to achieve that aim.”</p> <p>Callejon was full of praise for Jose Mourinho, whom he described as a caring head coach having the interest of his players at the back of his hand.</p> <p>The 25-year-old added that Real Madrid will add more titles to their trophy cabinet as everyone in the roster is gunning to improve on their La Liga success and want to lift UEFA Champions League trophy after bowing out of the competition in the semi-finals.</p> <p>"The coach [Jose Mourinho] shows he cares about the players. Clearly we all want to row in the same direction and win more titles.”</p> <p>"We have a great squad. These players won a well-deserved La Liga title last season, and almost reached the Champions League final. We have the best players."</p> <p>Spanish U-19 hero, Jese Rodriguez, echoed the sentiments shown by his senior, stating that he wants to improve on his last year’s efforts and is eyeing more first team minutes to do so.</p> <p>"It's always important to score goals, but the truth is that I care most about playing matches and I'm really happy that the coach let me play," Jese was quoted by Madrid based Spanish sports daily, AS.</p>
