Jose Enrique targets UEFA Champions League berth with Liverpool this season – EPL News
Newly signed Liverpool defender, Jose Enrique, is aiming to secure a top four finish with the Reds in the ongoing 2011/12 Barclays Premier League season and has insisted that Kenny Dalglish’s squad have the quality and depth to qualify for the UEFA Champions
League.
After failing to qualify for the Champions League for the past two seasons, Liverpool are now aiming for a return to the elite European competition. The Reds’ have spent over £100 million in signing new players in the last two transfer windows and are being
heavily tipped to finish in the top four of the league this season.
Enrique made his debut for Liverpool against Sunderland two days after completing a switch from Newcastle United.

defender was impressed by Liverpool’s form and believes that the Reds have enough quality to beat any team in the Premier League.
Enrique told the club's official website, “In the first half [against Sunderland] we played some unbelievable stuff and we need to do that for 90 minutes. If we can do that we can beat anyone.”
The former Newcastle United defender outlined Liverpool’s aim of finishing in the top four. Enrique believes that Kenny Dalglish’s squad have the ability to challenge for the titles but asserted that Champions League qualification
is the realistic target for Merseyside club this season.
"We want to get back into the top four this season and if we could win the Premier League that would be fantastic, but we have to be realistic,” the 25-year-old left back added.
The Spanish defender has labelled Barclays Premier League as the most competitive domestic competition in the world and believes that seven English clubs will be fighting for the Champions League places this season.
