Jose Enrique tight-lipped over his future, insists that he is happy at Newcastle United
Newcastle’s left back, Jose Enrique, is yet to sign a contract renewal with the Toons but has admitted that he is happy at St. James’ Park for the time being. He was talking in the wake of a possible transfer to Merseyside club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 FC, at the end
of the ongoing 2010/11 season.
The Spaniard has not opened any talks regarding the signing of his new contract and insisted that he would consider his future once the season ends. He admitted that there are some difficulties at the club but he refrained from opening any debate on it.
He told that he wants to focus upon his current commitments with the club and seemed determined to help Newcastle end the season on a high.
The 25-year-old claimed that there are several clubs around who are interested in acquiring his services and he only wants to play football, whether he gets a chance in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Spain-c3011.
Enrique’s current contract with the club is set to expire next year and the Spaniard’s hesitation in signing a new contract with the Magpies must be a hint towards his possible move.
The former Villarreal man mentioned, "We haven't spoken about contracts yet - I don't want to say more about that. I'm happy with that and I'm very happy here. I know there are a few difficult things at Newcastle, but we the players don't have to think about
that. If I have to continue here [at Newcastle], I'm happy. If I have to go to another club, I'm happy in England. If I have to go to another league, I'm happy. I just want to play football - it's my life and it's best for me."
The Toons boss, Alan Pardew, has hoped that his first choice left back would make a decision in club’s favour once it all ends this season. Newcastle are almost certain to finish this year’s campaign in the middle of the table after making a return from
the relegation they suffered in 2009.
Enrique concluded by saying, "We're doing well, we had http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Owen-c25355 and players like that and we were relegated, but with this team we will stay in the division."
Newcastle are currently 12th in the League table with 41 points and are left with three games that will bring this year’s campaign to an end.
