Liverpool’s Jose Enrique believes that the Reds need to start winning games at home, if they are to make it into the top four by the end of the season.
The Reds took on Manchester United this past weekend and had a brilliant opportunity to try and close in on the fourth spot in the league.
However, following a rather disappointing performance, Liverpool ended up losing to the Red Devils, who took away all three points from the game.
With Newcastle United, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 and Liverpool losing this past weekend, Arsenal went on to beat Sunderland and snuck ahead of their rivals and claimed the fourth spot in the league.
Despite the Reds being unbeaten at Anfield this season, the team has managed to draw most of their games at their home ground.
As a result, the team hasn’t been able to capitalise on the situation as well as they would have wanted to.
Enrique has now urged his team to go on and produce positive results in all their upcoming home games, as he hopes for Liverpool to try and pick up as many wins as they possibly can.
With both http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 and Chelsea set to visit Anfield this season, the Merseyside team can’t afford to have an off game.
Enrique, when talking about just what Liverpool need to do in order to ensure a European spot is quoted to have said: "We lost [against United] but the truth is that we have to win more games at home"
"We are still in the race to be in the Champions League next season.”
"It's hard but Chelsea and Arsenal have lost many points too. Chelsea lost this weekend and we can't forget Newcastle.”
Nonetheless, Enrique is hopeful that Liverpool’s home fans can help add the pressure on all their opponents at Anfield.
The defender ended by adding: "It's really important that we have to play these teams at home and we'll have another man - you play with 12 with our fans.”
Despite all of Enrique’s claims, it is going to be down to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s performances in their upcoming games that will help determine just where the team is going to be, when the season comes to an end.
