The Deportivo La Coruna coach was displeased by their display at Los Carmenes, claiming that they should have walked away with the three points on offer.
Granada scraped a point from their home fixture against Deportivo La Coruna, capitalizing on their rival’s inability to add to their tally after Nelson Oliveira had given them the lead just before the interval. The visitors were then consigned to share the
spoils as Floro Flores scored with 9 minutes of regulation time remaining.
Jose Luis Oltra was understandably discontent with Deportivo de La Coruna’s inability to finish off their rivals and did not shy away from scorning his charges in the post-match press conference.
The experienced coach claimed that the result was unfair on Deportivo as they ran riot across the pitch, with Granada unable to get a foot in the affairs. However, Oltra was understanding as he admitted that they will have to take the result because of their
own shortcomings.
“We have not closed out the game and in the end we have drawn, something that does not seem unfair to the merits of Granada, but we could have taken all three points,” the witty trainer stated.
Despite the result, Oltra was pleased with the performance of his players, who were determined to return to Riazor with the three points. Nevertheless, he welcomed the point accumulated and claimed that it will allowed them to build up in their coming fixtures.
“The team were dedicated, determined and disciplined and much closer to winning than losing. Every point is always welcome and we will be stronger at home.”
“I’m not unhappy, but we had chances to win the game.”
Granada coach, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juan-Antonio-c19650 Anquela, had similar sentiments to share, admitting that his charges were lucky to get away with a point from the fixture after being on the back foot for the duration of the league encounter.
“The goal conceded was an excessive punishment, but we were closer to losing the second half than winning it, but with a bit of luck, we may have also won.”
In the aftermath of the result, Deportivo comfortably sit in 7th place with Granada continue to languish in 2012/13 La Liga season, rooted in 18th
place.
