La Liga season.
Reflecting on the league meeting, Deportivo coach Jose Luis Oltra shared that it was a ‘painful’ result as it came at the Riazor. Nevertheless, the assured tactician hailed the performance put in by his players, claiming that no one point a finger at the
players.
Continuing on the topic, Oltra stated that his charges answered his war cry and he cannot blame anyone for the league defeat. He reminisced his remarks before the game in which he asked for greater intensity and pointed towards Deportivo’s first half performance
to support his claim.
“I was very pleased with the team’s performance. It is a painful result because it is a home defeat, but nobody can say anything about my players,” the coach asserted.
“We did everything to win and there is no blame attached to any of them. During the week we asked for courage, to be solid, and that is what we got in the first half.”
Moreover, Oltra revealed that he asked his players to go the extra mile but could not have done anything with Sevilla taking the impetus in the later stages of the game.
The Valencian coach admitted that Rakitic’s fortunate goal was the final nail in the coffin as they could not come back into the game after that.
“During the break I asked for a little more but the opposition scored and later got a fortunate goal.”
Continuing on the topic, the midfielder c*m coach remarked that Deportivo faithful will be happy with the football the team put on display at the Riazor.
“A team does not live on its image but the results it gets, although the fans cannot be dissatisfied with the effort or the football we played.”
