In an interview, for a famous newspaper, Reina briefed
"We need to finish this season with a better position than we are at this time and make sure we build strong team for next years. If not, it is going to be really difficult to keep these legendary players in the squad.”
Jose Manuel Reina is one of the finest goal-keepers of all times. The Spanish footballer is currently playing for, English Premier League team, Liverpool along with the Spanish National Team. He is best known for saving penalties. He is also the vice-captain of Liverpool, in the absence of Carragher and Gerrard.
Reina believes Liverpool could lose its star players. Both Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres could find the exit-doors. The club has struggled and finished at the ninth position, in the last season, resulting in speculations being made on players like Torres and Gerrard, to leave the club. He had warned his team officials to take significant steps and stated
“We will have to give best performance otherwise it will be difficult to finish among the top four. All the clubs are building strong squads all over England and we need to do the same. This is what I want. We are not playing well especially on away matches. Liverpool should try to improve its woeful form. It difficult to go anywhere but if we want to beat teams, we will have to.”
