Jose Mourinho: I could return to Inter Milan
Real Madrid boss Jose Mourinho today claimed that he could one day make a return to his previous club Inter Milan.
The Portuguese had a stellar two seasons at the San Siro, during which he won the Supercoppa Italia, two Serie A titles, a Coppa Italia and the UEFA Champions League — helping Inter to become the first Italian team to win the treble of the league, domestic cup and European Cup.
Following that success, former Porto boss Mourinho left Inter in May to try his hand at managing in Spain but has said there is always the chance he could return to Italy and Inter at some point in his career. He told reporters today that: “Would I go back to Inter? Why not? We did very well together. I am always an Inter man. I was happy there and we won everything together."
'I hope Inter win everything'
He added that he wished Rafael Benitez, who became a fierce rival when he was at English Premier League outfit Liverpool and Mourinho was at Chelsea, the best of luck as new Inter boss this season. He said that: "'Forza Nerazzurri' I say with my heart. I hope Inter win everything but the Champions League this season."
However, Mourinho said that AC Milan will provide a tough test for the Italian champions this season after adding Swedish international Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Brazilian striker Robson de Souza (‘Robinho’) to their ranks this summer: “With Ibrahimovic and Robinho, this is another Milan.”
Mourinho revealed that he still talks with Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti every week. He said that: "We're friends. I'm part of his history and he's part of mine."
The Madrid boss also said that only seven clubs were capable of winning the Champions League this season — his side, Inter, Barcelona, Milan, Chelsea, Manchester United and Bayern Munich. “One of these will win,” he said.
