Jose Mourinho: Real Madrid's strong squad is still developing
Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has said he is still trying to find the right "dynamic" for his team, adding that he does not wish to make any additions to his current squad in the next transfer window.
Mourinho's team has made a promising start to the season with four wins and two draws in six games in La Liga. In the Champions League, Real have defeated AJ Auxerre and Ajax Amsterdam, but the team has not been immune from criticism surrounding the lack
of goals scored so far.
In their last league game, Real overcame Deportivo La Coruna in a strong display, winning 6–1 at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Mourinho said that while the victory was a strong response to the critics, his team cannot be expected to play splendidly in every game
"I do not think that 0-0 represents Real Madrid, but I also know that we cannot win 6-1 every week. We are currently looking for a balanced dynamic, a team that knows how to play and knows how to interpret their adversaries."
No new additions needed
In recent weeks, Real have been linked with several players around Europe, but Mourinho said his current squad contains adequate talent to challenge in domestic and European competitions.
"When it comes to signings, when speaking of Gareth Bale, [Fernando] Llorente, [Wayne] Rooney, it does these players no harm to be linked with Real Madrid. However, I trust in these players to do what’s necessary throughout the season."
The Portuguese manager, who spent lavish amounts on new players when coaching Chelsea and presided over a strong Inter Milan squad last season, added that there is no such thing as a complete squad.
"We do not have the perfect squad, because there is no such thing as a perfect squad. We have excellent staff with players who give me a lot of confidence, so I do not want any player in the winter market. Unless something unusual happens, the market is
closed for Real Madrid."
Real travel to face Malaga in the league on Saturday before hosting AC Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday.
